San Jose State University Theatre Dept. will be hosting the California
Educational Theatre Association's Northern California High School
Theatre Competition on Saturday, Feb. 4th, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The
Festival is open to all high school students in Northern California.
Students can choose to participate in acting competitions (1-2 minute
monologues, 3-5 minute duet scenes, 3-5 minute group scenes (3 or more),
and also attend workshops given by theatre professionals, SJSU
Professors, and others. Technical Theatre Students can attend workshops
for the entire day in technical theatre components (lighting design,
costuming, make-up, sound design, etc.). There will be an on-going
center for headshots and resumes, and SJSU's STEP Touring Ensemble will
be presenting "King."
